The Kittelson network login script is written to include a section that updates the Kittelson Word templates on your local hard drive.

However, this function works only when you are in a Kittelson office location.

When you are in the office, the login script is able to map the network drive letters, connect to the network, and replace all the template files on your local C: drive. All this is done automatically, in the background.

Logging in Remotely

If you are not in the office, the login script can map the drive letters, but cannot establish the connection to your C: drive. This necessary connection is not established until after you run the Cisco VPN program.

If you are connected via the VPN, you can update the templates by running a batch file located here:

S:\TEMPLATE\Update Templates.bat

Go to that folder and double click on the batch file and a DOS window should appear and the batch file will run.

For convenience, You can copy this batch file to your desktop and run it at any time after establishing the VPN connection.

You do not need to run the batch file every time you log in. Once the files are copied to your C: drive, you are good to go.

During this time of remote connection, we will let you know when updates occur.

Eventually, at such time that folks return to the office, we can get back to letting the login script work its magic. Until then, we will need to rely on this batch file to accomplish any Word template updates.
